Keena and I arrived in Barcelona about 7:15 local or about 1:15 EST. After a 20 minute cab ride we arrived safely at our base in Barcelona, the Hotel Colon. We got started right away and visited the Barcelona Cathedral, the Gothic Quarter and Barcelona History Museum. The history museum is located about 65 feet below street level and contains ruins dated back to 10 BC. I personally was amazed at the Romans’ engineering skills when it came to everyday tasks. They were well before their time. We also had our first taste of Serrano ham. It reminded me of thinly-sliced, uncooked country ham. It really was delicious. I might be able to find something to eat in Spain after all.
